Key Stage 3, GCSE & A-Level Maths Tutoring

There is a common perception we see that, for students, maths is a bit like Marmite: you either love it or hate it. Regardless of which way you think, it is a subject that, with the right approach and teaching, becomes very manageable — and getting the grade you want is an achievable target.

What we cover

We tutor Maths across Key Stage 3 (Years 7–9), GCSE and A-Level, and do this for any relevant exam board, including AQA, Edexcel (Pearson) and OCR, plus SQA National 5 and Higher for students in Scotland.

Who teaches it

Maths is taught by Ben, a Maths & Economics student at the University of St Andrews — whose School of Mathematics and Statistics is currently ranked first in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2026) — with A-Levels in Maths, Economics and English Literature. Having sat these exams recently, he brings genuine, current insight into what examiners reward — not just how to get the answer, but how to present it for full marks. Our approach to Maths

We teach according to how the student learns best. For some, that is repetition of similar problem sets to build a formulaic approach for exam day. For others, it may be that a deep conceptual understanding is wanted, and this may mean breaking down a problem, exploring real-world applications, or finding other ways to cement the learning. Any approach is equally valid, and is testament to the diversity, breadth of talent and uniqueness within our students.
